The 2016 Beijing Bird’s Nest Half Marathon was successfully held at the National Stadium, Beijing on 30 October. Host of the event was Chinese Athletic Association (CAA) and it was organized by Inter Sports, a subsidiary of Beijing based BeiAo Group. Mr. YUE Peng, Chairman of the Board, Beijing State-Owned Assets Management Co., Ltd.（BSAM）, and Mr. WU Xiaonan, BSAM Vice President together with leaders from CAA co-started the run by firing a gun.
Different from the first edition of this event which was mainly held in the Olympic Center, 70% of the track of the current event was social roads, with addition of such landmarks as National Tennis Center. There was a total of 20,000 entries, and a shortlist of over 8,000 was generated after lots drawing. The rate of event completion was 97.43%. Both the man and woman champion broke the record of the event. The State-Owned Asset Running Squad, composed of 125 enterprise staff from within the State- Owned Asset Management System exhibited their spirituality while at the same time promoted the brand of the company. In terms of commercial cooperation, the current event opened up a precedent: international high-end brand produces exclusive running shoes for a domestic Marathon event; it was also the first time that that we used map engine to mark the route information for a Marathon. In terms of service support, there were a total of over 1,800 volunteers; the track was equipped with mobile AED, medical aid, and ambulance. The incident rate was zero; no accident/incident happened.
Led by the BSAM headquarters, 92% of the 125 Member State-Owned Asset Running Squad finished the event. Prior to the event, warm-up camp activity was organized for all the runners at Bird’s Nest via the Running Lab project created by Inter Sports, and with joint efforts from the Beijing Intech Rehabilitation & Nursing Group, a subsidiary of Capital Healthcare Group. During the event, members of the running team wore unified BSAM logo, held high the Running Squad flag. Along the route slogans were hung, supply stations were set up every 5 km, a cheering team of more than 30 people from Capital Healthcare Group and CHJ-Care cheered for the runners. The various ways of communication efforts had well exhibited the morale of BSAM staff while at the same time promoted BSAM brand and image.
To best support the event, Capital Healthcare Group organized from its four subsidiary companies up to 100 medical rehab staff to form a medical service team; Beijing Aiyuehua Hospital for Women and Children installed 4 medical stations along the running route, dispatched over 20 medical staff; Beijing Intech Rehabilitation & Nursing Group set up post-event stretching/relaxing area, dispatching some 50 professional Kinesiotherapists, serving runners 800person/times.
